About Us
My passion for women's history and love of this city
created Herstory Asheville; a women's history tour in
a town that seems to attract and produce strong,
independent females.  Herstory eventually
snowballed into more stories and more tours.
Asheville's history is rich and its people fascinating!
The About Biltmore Village Tour, Grove House Ghost
Tour, and The Women of the River Arts District
(coming soon) are all uniquely Asheville.

With the exception of an occasional Herstory tour led
by my daughter, Haley, I do lead all tours myself.
These are not scripted tours and the essence of
hours of interviews and research cannot be
conveyed to a hired guide.

Join me soon!
I love downtown Asheville and there are so many
stories to tell about the women of the city! You'll hear
about the woman who is responsible for private voting
booths and secret ballots (people actually thought she
was crazy to suggest these things!). I'll tell you about
the female doctor who performed surgeries in a room
off of her kitchen while raising funds for the city's first
hospital for the Black community.

I look forward to telling these stories and more on the
next tour.
